The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) on Saturday announced that operations at the Iloilo International Airport will remain closed until 6 p.m. Saturday.
In its Notice to Airmen (NOTAM), CAAP said the closure was due to the accident on Friday evening where a Cebu Pacific flight 5J 461 from Manila failed to stop when it landed at the runway in Iloilo.
The aircraft, carrying 180 passengers and six crew members, overshot and ended up on the grassy field. All were safe.
CAAP and Cebu Pacific are doing everything to remove the plane from the area.
Several flights have been cancelled following the accident. With Zhander Cayabyab, DZMM
