MANILA - A wellness resort in Batangas is set to become a global brand with branches in three other countries with the backing of Nepal's first self-made billionaire.
Binod Chaudhary, chairman of the Chaudhary Group (CG) Hospitality, said he was so impressed with The Farm at San Benito when he first visited it years ago that he immediately sought to invest in it.
The Farm, which is located in Lipa, Batangas, caters to people who want a different kind of vacation where they can detox and pursue wellness activities.
CG Hospitality took over The Farm last year, and Chaudhary has since promised to take its concept to other countries around the world.
The company, based in Kathmandu, Nepal has a portfolio of 95 hotels and resorts in 12 countries under a range of brands.
In an exclusive interview with ANC's The Boss, Chaudhary said he intends to take The Farm as a brand into Vietnam, Thailand and Croatia.
"We are very keen to create The Farm as a brand," Chaudhary said, adding that it would be "a global brand that stands for the top end holistic wellness."
Chaudhary added that as a brand, The Farm's concept of wellness is holistic.
"Wellness is all about your body, your mind and your soul. You have to be able to touch all these 3 elements."
Locally, The Farm is also broadening its target market, developing more treatments that go beyond being the vegan and detox center it is known for.
The resort now also serves pescatarian fare, which allows for seafood on top of a vegetarian diet.
Chaudhary said they are also developing more high-end villas within the Batangas property.
They are also considering developing properties that cater to retirees who want to remain healthy.
