Manila Water wins Asian Human Capital award

MANILA, Philippines - Ayala-led Manila Water Co. was named a grand awardee at the Asian Human Capital Awards, the first Philippine company to receive such an honor.

"We are deeply honored for the singular distinction the Asian Human Capital Award has bestowed on us for giving us the privilege to share our story with the rest of the world through this rare honor," said Manila Water president and CEO Gerardo Ablaza Jr., who was in Singapore to accept the trophy.

The award is given by the Singapore Ministry of Manpower, CNBC Asia Pacific and top business school INSEAD.

A select group of companies to have been honored by the program, which recognizes organizations that have implemented "impactful and innovative" people practices. Winners of the award thus far are Procter and Gamble, Ritz Carlton Singapore, and Accenture Services India.
