MANILA - Banco de Oro Unibank (BDO) and Singapore's Keppel Land Limited on Thursday said their joint venture, The Podium West Tower, was on track for completion by the second quarter of 2019.

The announcement was made during the topping off ceremony held early Thursday in Mandaluyong City.

The building is part of the second phase of the SM-KL Project, the companies said in a joint statement. Keppel Land's subsidiary, Keppel Philippines Properties, holds a 40 percent stake in the SM-KL Project, it said.

Keppel Land president for Regional Investments Sam Moon Thong said the development will meet the demand for high quality office premises by multinational and local corporations.

“We are privileged to participate in the growing Philippine economy together with our partner BDO in developing this premier and eco-conscious commercial development," he said.

The Podium was designed to consume a minimum of 14 percent less energy and 30 percent less water compared to standard buildings, the statement said.

Keppel Land is the property arm of Keppel Corp in Singapore which has interests in China, Vietnam, Indonesia, and the Philippines, among others.
