MANILA - The Filipino-Chinese Bakery Association Inc (FCBAI) on Tuesday said its members will not raise prices of bread and other products "for now" while they can still control costs.
The group said its members could control costs by improving their manufacturing equipment and optimizing their delivery schedule to cope with higher gas prices.
"We always tell our members as long as you can control your costs, control your price, do not make (price) adjustments,” said FCBAI president Peter Fung.
Fung noted that flour costs less than rice at present. But he also called on sugar millers and distributors to help them keep costs down.
