MANILA, Philippines – Tycoon Andrew Tan's Alliance Global Group Inc. is looking to complete the first phase of its second integrated casino and entertainment complex, Resorts World Bayshore, by 2018.
The $1.1 billion project, which is located within Pagcor Entertainment City in Parañaque, is two years behind the original schedule because the property was only recently turned over to Alliance Global.
AGI president Kingson Sian said aside from the casino, Phase 1 of the project includes three luxury hotels with 800 rooms, a retail component, and a theater.
Phase 1 will only make up less than one-third of the entire 31-hectare development.
"We should be starting construction of Phase 1 within the next 90 days and completion should be by 2018," Sian said on Tuesday.
Alliance Global will tap Japanese hotel brand Okura and Westin Hotels & Resorts for its hotel development. A third brand is still being determined.
Resorts World Bayshore will be developed under Resorts World Bayshore City Inc., which will soon be owned by Travellers International Hotel Group Inc.
Travellers, a joint venture between AGI and Genting Hong Kong Ltd., is also the developer of Resorts World Manila in Pasay City.
Resorts World Bayshore will be the fourth casino to open at the Entertainment City.
Enrique Razon’s Solaire Resorts and Casino opened in March last year, while City of Dreams Manila of Melco Crown Philippines is slated to open late this year.
Manila Bay Resorts of Japanese billionaire Kazuo Okada is expected to open next year.
