"GCash just last night already started masking those first names... What we are hoping is that it is not going to increase the amount of wrong sent [money]," ani Globe Telecom Chief Information Security Officer Anton Bonifacio.

"We did a simulation based on the information that we got as to the format of the names that are included in the SMS," ani PLDT and Smart Chief Information Security Officer Angel Redoble.

"What we want is to provide the first name so that won't happen so that people with their hard earned money would not be able to do it wrongly. Unfortunately again, abusing that feature they're using it to scrape [information]," ani Bonifacio.
