MANILA – The MRT-3 line resumed partial operations after an electrical glitch caused a major disruption early Friday, its operator said.
Trips between North Avenue Station and Shaw Boulevard Station (both north and south bound) are operational as of 9:45 a.m, MRT-3 said in an advisory.
The operations of the capital’s main train line was suspended 6:17 a.m. on Friday after an Overhead Catenary System (OCS) cable in Guadalupe Station, which helps transmit power to the train system, was cut which resulted in shortage in electrical supply, the Department of Transportation earlier said.
"Repair works to restore full service in the entire line is ongoing," the operator said.
Some 500,000 commuters use the MRT-3 every day to travel on EDSA, Metro Manila's busiest thoroughfare.
