MANILA - The proposed P8.2 billion 2020 budget of the Office of the President passed the House Appropriation Committee's briefing Friday without debates.
Committee chair Isidro Ungab waived the interpellation meant for Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea as a courtesy given to a co-equal branch of government or a former member of the Congress.
The Supreme Court, Office of the Vice President and the Department of Information and Communication Technology (DICT) were granted the same courtesy as Vice President Leni Robredo and Sec. Gregorio Honasan were former Congressmen, Ungab said.
Questions about the OP's confidential intelligence fund can still be submitted in writing, the committee said.
The OP's P8.2 billion 2020 budget, which is higher than 21.7 percent compared to P6.7 billion this year, will be tackled in plenary debates next week.
