MANILA, Philippines - The Air Passenger Bill of Rights is expected to be released "soon," according to an official of the Civil Aeronautics Board (CAB).

CAB executive director Carmelo Arcilla said the latest draft of the bill is being reviewed by outgoing Transportation Secretary Mar Roxas. Asked when it will be released, Arcilla said, "maybe anytime soon."

Incoming Transportation Secretary Joseph Emilio Abaya said he will make sure the Air Passenger Bill of Rights will be finalized and signed as scheduled.

The Department of Transportation and Communications has held two public hearings on the Air Passenger Bill of Rights. Roxas had earlier said an administrative order on the bill of rights will be released by end of August

The Air Passenger Bill of Rights is aimed at improving the services of the airline industry and protecting the rights of air passengers.
