Ex-BSP deputy is new head of anti-money laundering secretariat

MANILA - Former Bangko Sentral Deputy Director Mel Georgie Racela was named executive director of the Anti-Money Laundering Council Secretariat, the council said Friday.

Racela will work to improve the country's standing with international dirty money monitors, the AMLC said in a statement.

He was officer-in-charge of the secretariat from February. He was previously the BSP Deputy Director for Special Projects and Reports.
