MANILA - Malaysian businessmen will launch next week a business chamber in the Philippines, reflecting their optimism in investment relations between the Southeast Asian neighbors.

A Malaysia Chamber of Commerce and Industries branch in the Philippines will let Malaysian businessmen know about the positive developments in the country, said MCCI president Edward Ling.

The Duterte government's political will and efforts to make doing business easier will help attract Malaysian businessmen, Ling said.

Malaysian businessmen are keen on Mindanao and see the fighting between troops and Islamic State-inspired militants as temporary, said MCCI vice president Eric Yam.
