MANILA - Cebu Pacific said possible delays in flights coming from Clark were expected after the authorities issued a lightning alert late Thursday.

Aircraft and ground staff movements were temporarily suspended at the Clark International Airport due to safety concerns after PAGASA raised a lightning alert at 5:10 p.m. on Aug. 22, Cebu Pacific said in an advisory.

Its Clark to Iloilo flight 5J 725 may be delayed, the airline said.

"The alert is a safety measure taken to prevent any untoward incident from happening when lightnings are prevalent in the immediate area and may endanger personnel, passengers and even flight operations," the airline said.
