MANILA, Philippines – The Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) may miss revenue collection targets for August and September following missed targets for July.
According to revenue chief Kim Henares, the agency might not meet its collection goals despite intensified tax collection campaigns.
The bureau collected P63.813 billion in July, 5.3% below the target P67.388 billion.
Henares, however, was quick to say that the agency’s yearly goal target is more important than the monthly performance.
She vowed to make up for the shortfall by continuing and further strengthening the Run After Tax Evaders program. – With reports from ANC
