MANILA, Philippines - Air conditioning chillers at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 2 (NAIA 2) are also being repaired, according to the Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA).
"Presently, repair of the air conditioning chillers of NAIA Terminal 2 is ongoing. It will be completed by the end of this month," MIAA general manager Jose Angel Honrado said.
Out of Terminal 2's seven chillers, four are undergoing repairs.
"MIAA is also installing 21 pieces, 10-tonner package type air conditioning units as a contingency measure especially during warm climate. Nine out of these 21 units will be in place also by end of this month," he said.
Honrado said passengers at NAIA 2 can expect improved temperature levels by September.
Meanwhile, 16 comfort rooms at the NAIA 2 are also undergoing rehabilitation. Certain comfort rooms have been declared for passenger use only to ensure continued convenience, while improvement works are in progress.
Honrado sought the public's understanding for the ongoing repairs.
"We seek the public’s understanding and support for all the enhancements we are now doing in our terminals," he said.
Passengers at the NAIA terminal 1 have been complaining of hot temperatures due to the on-going rehabilitation works.
