MANILA - In need of an electrician, plumber, or aircon cleaner? They are now just a few clicks away as the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) launched a new website, www.911tesda.ph

The web-based platform, launched on Tuesday, links individuals, households, and enterprises in need of services to TESDA-certified technicians who are looking for job opportunities.

“It will be convenient for our clients, at the same time it will provide employment for our certified workers,” TESDA Director General Isidro Lapeña said.

911TESDA can be accessed with any internet browser or via TESDA mobile android application, which is downloadable from Google Play.

The platform offers aircon cleaning, carpentry, housekeeping, massage therapy, and plumbing, among others. Fees for the services will be indicated in the website.

Customers choose the skilled service that they need and then type their address. The platform then matches customers with the nearest service providers.

"Ang principle nito, parang Grab taxi. You do the transaction by going to the system,” he explained.

As of July 26, 911TESDA’s pool for the program has 2,601 workers, who are all holders of TESDA National Certificates.

They are trained in welding, food and beverage, electrical installation, cookery, automotive servicing, wellness massage, and housekeeping.

“You will be assured na ‘yung workers na ‘yan ay certified worker, in our database, who have gone through screening. So mayroon silang data sa amin… If they do good, ‘yung hiring sa kanila will be continuing,” Lapeña said.

Apart from booking services, 911TESDA’s online platform also accepts registration for additional workers who are holders of TESDA National Certificates.

“There are TESDA graduates that are at the end of contract, nahihinto ang kanilang service, ito ang target workers natin. Kahit na ‘yung mga employed na, for additional income, pwede silang mag-sideline,” Lapeña said.

TESDA said the project is being implemented with partner platforms FindWork PH, Gawin Inc., Goodwork Solutions Inc., Helply.ph, LBP Services Corporation, Mr. Butler Home Services, Teko Solutions Asia Inc., Urbia Household Errands Services, and Remedium Inc.

Lapeña said customer complaints may be coursed through these service providers, but the platform will soon also have a rating system.

For now, 911TESDA services are only available in Metro Manila, Bulacan, Palayan City in Nueva Ecija, Batangas, Rizal, Cavite, and Laguna.

But TESDA is looking to expand the service to Davao City, General Santos City, Koronadal City, Tagum City and Cebu City.
