MANILA -- President Rodrigo Duterte ordered government agencies on Monday to implement the Ease of Doing Business Act, which he described as "significant" in his fight against red tape.
In his third State of the Nation Address, the President said the state would "sustain" efforts to make doing business in the country easier.
"I hereby direct all government units. Makinig sana kayo (Please listen), to faithfully implement this law and simplify the process," he said.
"Wag po kayong magkamali (Make no mistake)," he said.
The President signed the Ease of Doing Business Act last May, requiring requires government agencies to act on applications within 3 days for simple transactions, 7 days for complex ones and 20 days for the highly technical.
