MANILA, Philippines - Yahoo! Philippines and ABS-CBN News Channel (ANC) on Thursday announced a content partnership, Yahoo's first of a kind collaboration outside of the United States.

ANC will have its own section on Yahoo Philippines News, which will have online articles, photos and video clips.

The section will go live on July 22, with intensive coverage of President Benigno Aquino's State of the Nation Address.

With this partnership, Yahoo! Philippines, which has a daily average user base of 2.1 million, expects a boost in the number of users.

However, the ANC Yahoo! site will not directly compete with, the news website of ABS-CBN.

"The audience of is we are providing news about the Filipinos for Filipinos anywhere they are. With ANC, we're trying to angle the articles so that they serve a global audience. It's news about the Filipino to anybody who is interested... Also we hired a different editorial team, who will be angling the news differently for this market. There will be different articles on ANC Yahoo and different articles on," Anna Rodriguez, head of the News Digital Media department, said. is the news website of ABS-CBN Corp.
