Dakila takes oath as new BSP Deputy Governor, succeeds Guinigundo

MANILA - Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas Governor Benjamin Diokno administered the oath of office on Thursday to Francisco Dakila Jr. as BSP Deputy Governor. 

Dakila will take over the BSP's Monetary and Economics Sector (MES), succeeding Diwa Guinigundo who is retiring. 

"As head of the MES, Mr. Dakila will provide overall supervision, management, and direction to monetary and financial policy, international monetary affairs, loans and credit, economic and financial literacy, among others," the BSP said. 

The BSP said Dakila served as Assistant Governor for the Monetary Policy Sub-Sector where he provided highly-technical advisory support.

Before joining the BSP, Dakila worked at the US Agency for International Development and the Agricultural Credit Policy Council. 

He also taught at the De La Salle University and at the University of the Philippines where he received his PhD and MA in Economics and BS in Economics (magna cum laude).
