MANILA - Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI) said on Wednesday it is postponing the implementation of its new branch transaction fees for peso cash deposits and withdrawals to January 2019.
BPI was supposed to impose the new transaction fees on Sept. 1, but reconsidered this amid "concern" from clients.
"This will give our clients enough time to be more familiar with our other existing Bank Anywhere facilities via our online and electronic channels," the Bank said in a statement.
"Our online banking website and mobile app allow our clients to perform transactions such as funds transfer and bills payment with added security and greater convenience," BPI said.
However, BPI also said that fees for transactions other than peso deposits and withdrawals will still take effect on Sept. 1 as earlier announced.
