MANILA - Peter Wallace, founder of the Wallace Business Forum, said the consultative meeting with President-elect Rodrigo Duterte sends a good signal to the business community.
He said he is bullish about the incoming Duterte administration, saying he has never seen any leader do so much, in so little time, and even before officially assuming office.
"It sends a very good signal. It sends a signal that he's a man who is determined to start day 1 running to get things done," he told ANC.
Wallace admitted that he was skeptical about the meeting at first, but was pleasantly surprised that it turned out to be very organized and productive.
He added that he's optimistic Duterte will listen to the business community's recommendations because he wouldn't have initiated the meeting if he didn't intend to.
Wallace, who was granted his Filipino citizenship in September 2015, said he agrees with the Duterte administration's plan to seek emergency powers to deal with the traffic problem.
