MANILA—The Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) has extended the deadline for the tax amnesty on delinquencies until the end of the year.
Revenue Regulation No. 15-2020 — issued on June 19 and signed by Finance Secretary Carlos Dominguez III and Internal Revenue Commissioner Ceasar Dulay — amended certain provisions of RR No. 4-2019, which provides guidelines on the processing of the tax amnesty application on tax delinquencies.
The deadline was last extended until June 22 under BIR RR No. 11-2020.
Under the new deadline, taxpayers have until December 31 to settle their liabilities from year 2017 and earlier.
Last month, the BIR also extended the deadline of the fling of income tax from May 30 to June 15, as the lockdown to prevent the spread of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) continues.
