MANILA - The Asian Development Bank said Friday it approved a $126 million (P6 billion) loan for Metro Manila's water supply infrastructure.
The loan will fund the construction of Metropolitan Waterworks and Sewerage System's (MWSS) 15-kilometer water transmission pipeline, the ADB said in a statement.
A new aqueduct will help the system withstand 7.2 magnitude earthquakes and reduce the risk of breakdowns, it said.
Additional funding will also help MWSS' effort to rehabilitate the Umiray-Angat-Ipo dam system by improving the Angat Water transmission capacity, it said.
