MANILA - BDO Unibank on Monday said it was chosen by Japan's Bank of Fukuoka Ltd as its partner-bank in the Philippines.
The Philippines' largest lender said it would serve the needs of Bank of Fukuoka clients who want to do business in the country.
No other regional bank in the Kyushu region, where Bank of Fukuoka is based, has partnered with a Filipino lender in the past, BDO said.
Founded in 1942, Bank of Fukuoka has 170 branches and offices in Asia and the US, BDO said.
BDO earlier established a Japan Desk to serve Japanese companies in the Philippines.
