MANILA - Megaworld Corp said Monday it would launch 6 more urban developments this year until 2020 as it expands in growth areas outside Metro Manila.
These new developments will cover around 2,000 hectares, which are mostly from new land acquisitions, billionaire Andrew Tan's property arm told the stock exchange.
Five will be located in Luzon, while one is in Mindanao, Megaworld said.
"We're going to farther areas now. Of course, technology is playing a very important role in company, in our transformation," said its chief strategy officer, Kevin Tan.
Megaworld, which celebrated its 25th listing anniversary on the exchange on Monday, is a "dependable property company delivering really healthy numbers," said Regina Capital managing director Luis Limlingan.
The company currently has 24 townships and its portfolio is expected to grow to 30 by 2020.
