MANILA, Philippines - The 22nd Philippine Advertising Congress (PAC), to be held on November 16 to 19 in Camarines Sur, promises many firsts.
For one, the top honchos of the country's three biggest television networks will reportedly come together to offer their insights on the future of Philippine media, said Margot Torres, member of the organizing committee and former chair of PAC.
Torres said ABS-CBN Corp. chairman Eugenio Lopez III, GMA Network Inc. chairman Felipe Gozon, and TV5 chairman Manuel Pangilinan will attend the biennial event.
"This is one of the highlights of the event, for the first time, the bosses of the three biggest networks will be there. That will be very interesting," she told radio dzMM in an interview early Wednesday.
The Ad Congress, organized by the Advertising Board of the Philippines, will bring together the largest businesses, advertising and media firms in the country.
Carrying the theme "Changing the Game", this year's event aims to encourage the advertising industry to break through old habits and create opportunities out of challenges it confronts today, Torres said.
"Sometimes we feel that the problems are recurring, we need to break through, this is what the Ad Congress is about. We have a lot of speakers who are based overseas and here."
The 22nd PAC will be hosted by five organizations, including the fast growing Internet and Mobile Marketing Association, the United Print Media Group, the Cinema Advertising Association of the Philippines, the Independent Blocktimers Association of the Philippines, and the Outdoor Advertising Association of the Philippines. - With a report from The Philippine Star
