MANILA - People who want to travel domestically by air or sea first need to provide a medical certificate stating that they are not infected with the novel coronavirus, according to the government body tasked to implement the guidelines to curb the spread of COVID-19.

Joint Task Force COVID Shield (JTF) said before it can issue anyone a travel permit, also called a travel authority, the person who wants to travel first needs to provide a medical clearance certificate.

This applies to people who need to travel because of an emergency, those who were stranded by the COVID-19 lockdown and even APOR or "authorized persons outside of residence" who need to travel for work, said JTF Commander Police Lt. Gen. Guillermo Eleazar.

Travelers can get their medical clearance from the health office of their local government unit, and get their travel authority from their local police chiefs and station commanders.
