MANILA -- Some 2,000 tricycle and motorcycle drivers in the city of Manila who were displaced by the coronavirus lockdown will become food and parcel delivery partners of Grab, the local government said Wednesday.

The drivers will operate under the GrabFood and GrabExpress services, the Manila Public Information Office said in a statement.

"Dalawa ang matutulungan nito: ang mga trabahante at saka yung mga negosyo (This will help both the workers and the businesses)," Manila Mayor Isko Moreno said.

Grab said the partnership with the local government was its way of giving back to the capital.
