MANILA—The Mactan-Cebu International Airport announced that it has resumed operations, beginning Saturday, June 6, nearly three months after it temporarily closed because of the coronavirus pandemic.

The airport, which shut down on March 18, said in a social media post that domestic commercial flights departing Terminal 1 will begin again.

International flights are still restricted, but airport officials said it “will soon be in a position to meet mandatory health screening requirements” for resumption of trips abroad.

Travel in and out of the Philippines has been restricted to prevent the spread of the coronavirus disease.

The MCIA advised passengers to coordinate with their airlines and monitor their flight status, adding that travel documents should be completed before proceeding to the airport.
