MANILA – The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) insists that the project linking the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) to the reclamation area will be completed in time for the APEC meetings that will be held at the PICC in November.
It denied a newspaper report that San Miguel, which is building the NAIA Expressway public-private partnership project, may not finish it on time because of a walkway that's being built connecting NAIA Terminal 3 and the Resorts World Complex.
In a text message to ANC, Public Works Secretary Rogelio Singson said the project will be completed because it has priority over the walkway.
"The NAIA Expressway is a priority over the walkway because the walkway is above the elevated NAIA Expressway," he said.
A delay could mar the image that government wants to present to APEC leaders, delegates, and media in order to boost tourism and investments.
