MANILA - PLDT Inc said Friday an internal investigation showed that no customer data was downloaded or copied after one of its verified Twitter accounts was hacked.
"We would like to inform the public that a thorough investigation conducted by our Cyber Security Operations group has shown that there is no record of customer data download or exfiltration from the @PLDT_Cares Twitter account," the telco said in a statement.
"We will continue to fortify and enhance our cybersecurity protocols to prevent incidents like this from happening again in the future," it added.
The findings will be submitted to the National Privacy Commission, it said.
A group that identified itself as Anonymous briefly took over PLDT's customer service Twitter account on Thursday and posted an unauthorized content which was later deleted.
PLDT said the account was recovered on the same day.
