Wellness drives growth of Cebu-based chocolate maker

A more health-conscious society is helping drive the growth of a Cebu-based artisanal chocolate maker, its founder said Tuesday.

Speaking to ANC, Chocolate Chamber owner and founder Raquel Toquero Choa said her clients, including those recovering from cancer, consume chocolates for health reasons. 

"Thirty percent of my clients nowadays are more on wellness," Choa said, adding that she plans to open another branch near a hospital in Cebu.

The Chocolate Chamber is also active in promoting Filipino chocolates overseas, especially in Europe where the market has shown interest in their pure cacao de bola variant.

"I’m focusing on giving awareness on the identity of being a chocolate maker from the Philippines," Choa said.
