MANILA - Organizations that promote diversity in their workforce are more likely to succeed, the head of a regional banking giant said.
ANZ Philippines CEO Anna Green said businesses who have people who represent the community in which the company operates will be better able to connect to their market.
Green said she is thankful that ANZ, which she heads in the country, actively makes sure that women have opportunities to become leaders in their organizations.
She also praised the working culture in the Philippines as gender has never been an issue for her while working here.
Green added that she is also happy that she has frequently met many women executives in the country.
"I feel like I'm very impressed and I'm in very good company here in the Philippines. We have a lot of incredibly very good talented senior women who are running companies here," Green said in an exclusive interview with ANC's The Boss.
In ANZ, Green said they instituted benefits so that mothers, fathers and people who had to take care of elderly parents can work while attending to their families.
She said she was particularly thankful for the maternity benefits, which allowed her to take a leave so she can care for her children.
"To me that's priceless, that time I'll never get back and it does instill in you a loyalty to the organization," she said.
