MANILA - A Taiwanese electronics manufacturing firm said Wednesday its expansion in the Philippines would generate 5,000 more jobs this year.

New Kinpo Group, whose clients include Casio and Toshiba, currently employs 10,000 people in its 4 factories in the Philippines, said its CEO, Simon Shen.

"Philippines encountered competition from Indonesia, Vietnam and India but we consider the Philippines a more reasonable and stable labor cost compared with all Asian countries," Shen told ANC's Market Edge with Cathy Yang.
