MANILA -- Gyms and fitness studios will remain shut in areas that will shift to a modified lockdown by May 16 while some outdoor exercises will be permitted, Malacañang said Wednesday.
Outdoor exercises that are allowed are walking, jogging, running, and cycling, Presidential Spokesman Harry Roque said.
The public, however, should still observe safety protocols like wearing face masks and observing physical distancing.
The policy will cover Metro Manila, neighboring Laguna province, and Cebu City in Visayas as these areas will be placed under modified ECQ from May 16 to 31.
Gyms, fitness studios, and sports facilities are prohibited from operating in all areas under community quarantines.
