MANILA - Globe is suspending its mobile services in the Quiapo and surrounding areas until 6 PM Wednesday.
In a statement, Globe said that this was in compliance with a directive from the National Telecommunications Commission, which was contacted by the Philippine National Police.
"This means that Globe customers in these areas may not be able to access call, text and mobile data services while the suspension of services is in effect," Globe said.
Quiapo was the site of two blasts over the weekend which killed two and injured six others.
The PNP has initially ruled out terrorism as motive for the blasts, but an international terror expert said the Islamic State may be behind the blasts.
