MANILA - Business mogul Manny Pangilinan took to Twitter Tuesday to announce super-fast 5G internet service in parts of Makati through a 5G-ready phone from Huawei.
Eagle-eyed internet users, however, noticed the PLDT chairman and CEO was using an iPhone to promote the Huawei device.
"Whoooops!" quipped one user on the microblogging site, reacting to Pangilinan's tweet marked sent "Twitter for iPhone."
Some Twitter users were not pleased. They responded using various memes.
Technology vlogger Marques Brownlee responded in suspicion using a face with monocle emoji.
Another offered an explanation on the possible blunder, saying Pangilinan may have tethered his iPhone to a 5G-capable gadget.
Others meanwhile took the opportunity urging the businessman to fix PLDT's internet service instead.
The tweet has received more than 100 comments, 50 retweets, and 300 likes as of writing and Pangilinan has yet to respond.
The Shenzhen-based Huawei is also facing allegations of being controlled by the Chinese government to spy on other countries.
