MANILA - San Miguel Corp can build a $15 billion airport north of Manila on its own, hoping to attract up to 20 million foreign tourists and generate millions of jobs, its president, Ramon Ang said Friday.

The company's unsolicited proposal for the Bulacan airport, which has a 50-year concession, is among several infrastructure projects awaiting full government approvals.

"The company has enough cash flow, has the money to build that," Ang told reporters on the sidelines of an Asian Development Bank conference.

Ang said airport congestion was preventing the Philippines from attracting tourists on the scale of its Southeast Asian neighbors.

Several of the country's largest companies have teamed up to bid for the rehabilitation of the Ninoy Aquino International Airport or build alternate terminals.
