MANILA - Maynilad Water Services Inc on Thursday said customers in Parañaque, Las Piñas and parts of Cavite would continue to experience low to no water supply until May 14.
The concessionaire earlier said that water production was disrupted by increased algae bloom due to El Niño.
As of Thursday, Maynilad's Putatan facilities generate 125 million liters per day from a low of 80 mld, but still "below normal production" level, the utility said in a statement.
"We are intensifying our treatment interventions to address the issues brought about by the algal bloom and bring our production back to normal levels," it said.
"Meantime, our affected customers in portions of Parañaque, Las Piñas, Muntinlupa, and Cavite will continue to experience low pressure to no water supply daily, within the schedule provided previously, until May 14, 2019," it said.
A total of 40 mobile water tankers were dispatched to affected areas, it said.
Maynilad said its technical teams are working double time to bring water production back to normal.
