MANILA - Telecommunications company Smart advised its subscribers on Tuesday that they may experience slower internet access due to damage to the firm's undersea cable link to Hong Kong.
In a statement posted on its Facebook and Twitter accounts, Smart advised subscribers to slower access to sites and apps such as Facebook, Google and Netflix.
It said it is now "taking remedial measures while preparing for repair work of the affected undersea cable." It did not say what caused the damage to its undersea link.
"We apologize for the inconvenience and shall provide future updates," Smart said.
