MANILA - Procter & Gamble Philippines said Monday it was looking to produce 1 million face mask per month using materials from its baby care line to support the fight against the coronavirus pandemic.
Manufacturing equipment will be flown in from Asia and production is expected to start in May to roll out the face masks by June, said P&G president Raffy Fajardo.
"It's unprecedented times and we’re here trying to be a force of good...Hopefully we are able to contribute," Fajardo said.
P&G has seen a spike in demand for its cleaning and hygiene products, including anti-bacterial soap Safeguard and dishwashing liquid Joy, Fajardo said.
It's plant is working on 50 to 60 percent capacity to meet demand, he said.
