MANILA -- Phoenix Petroleum on Tuesday said its officials visited a liquefied natural gas terminal in China, considered as a possible model facility for its liquefied natural gas venture with state-owned CNOOC Gas and Power.
The proposed Tanglawan Philippine LNG project will be located in Batangas province. The joint venture recently secured a "notice to proceed."
Phoenix Petroleum said its officials along with their Chinese counterparts toured around the Tianjin facility and checked CNOOC's technical expertise in building and operating a running gas plant.
CNOOC's Tianjin LNG Terminal has a storage capacity of 96 million
cubic meters, said Phoenix.
The Tanglawan LNG project is expected to start operations by the end of 2023, it said.
