MANILA - Nine infrastructure projects worth P900 billion are up for the National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) board's approval, including an unsolicited proposal to build an airport in Bulacan, an official said on Tuesday.
These projects were already approved by the NEDA Investment Coordination Committee and will now be taken up by the NEDA Board chaired by President Rodrigo Duterte, NEDA Undersecretary Rolando Tungpalan told reporters.
One of the projects up for the board's approval is San Miguel Corp's P700 billion unsolicited proposal to build and operate an airport in Bulacan.
Also included are the building of 10 additional bridges crossing the Pasig River and the Subic-Clark railway.
Tungpalan also noted that China is stepping up efforts to finance projects under the government's Build Build Build (BBB) program. He said there is a new basket of projects being proposed by the Chinese, which includes regional airports.
However, these are raw proposals that cannot be disclosed to the public yet, he said.
