MANILA - Security Bank said Friday select over-the-counter transactions would be suspended starting March 30 as part of its security protocols against COVID-19.

Cash withdrawals of less than P50,000 for ATM cardholders and bills payments over-the-counter will be suspended, Security Bank said in a statement.

"Security Bank’s priority is the protection, security, and welfare of our clients," the bank said.

Select branches with skeletal workforce and shortened work hours will remain open in Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao, the bank said. A "no mask, no entry" policy is also being implemented, it said. Weekend banking for all branches is also suspended.

For access to cash, withdrawal fees in ATMs were waived while withdrawal limit was increased to P50,000, the bank said.

Salary advance payments are also extended for those with current payment status as of March 16 and with a due date from March 26 to April 14, it said.

Banks were allowed to operate as essential service providers during the enhanced community quarantine of Luzon effective until April 12, where most businesses and public transport were suspended.
