DoubleDragon opens 1st CityMall in the country

MANILA, Philippines - DoubleDragon Properties opened the country's first CityMall in Roxas City, Capiz.

DoubleDragon, a company owned by Mang Inasal founder Edgar “Injap” Sia II and Jollibee Foods owner Tony Tan Caktiong, is planning to open 100 CityMalls throughout the country over the next five eyars.

The grand opening of CityMall-Arnaldo Roxas was graced by actress and CityMall brand ambassador Anne Curtis-Smith.

The community mall, located on a 1.4 hectare property along Arnaldo Boulevard, houses over 7,000 square meters of retail space.

The mall is already 100 percent leased out, with locators such as Jollibee, Mang Inasal, Greenwich, Chowking, Red Ribbon, Highlands Coffee, BDO, Ministop, Robinsons Supermarket, Handyman, among others.

CityMall, which is 66 percent owned by DoubleDragon and 34 percent by SM Investments Corp., is expected to become the largest independent branded community mall chain in the country.

The company has already secured 20 CityMall sites in key provinces, and is aiming to complete 25 CityMalls by end of the year, and 100 CityMalls by 2020.
