MANILA - Business owners should process payrolls online for the duration of the Luzon-wide lockdown due to COVID-19, the inter-agency task force mandated to contain the disease said Wednesday.
One payroll manager for each company who cannot process wages online should be allowed to travel on March 26 and 27 to process salaries covering the period until April 15, an IATF resolution dated March 25 said.
"The IATF strongly encourages companies to process payrolls online," the resolution said.
Millions of Filipinos were forced to work from home during the lockdown as the government ordered the suspension of businesses and public transport except for essential services.
The entire island of Luzon, home to half of the country's 100 million population, is on enhanced community quarantine until April 12 to contain the spread of COVID-19
