MANILA -- Resorts World Manila said Monday it would give $1 million (P51 million) worth of donations for COVID-19 frontliners and poor families affected by the pandemic.
Over 240,000 pieces of medical supplies such as gloves, face masks, and thermal scanners will be donated to public hospitals and government units starting this week through the Resorts World Philippine Cultural Heritage Foundation Inc.
“This is just the start. Our committed amount will fund more donations, based on what is needed as the situation evolves,” Resorts World said in a statement.
Around 30,000 packs of groceries will be distributed in Pasay City and neighboring communities, Resorts World said.
Other conglomerates have also pledged millions of pesos to support the fight against COVID-19.
