MANILA, Philippines - Some lucky Filipino motorists got a free breakfast and toll fee at McDonald's Philippines' McTollbooth at the North Luzon Expressway and South Luzon Expressway.
From 6:30 a.m. to 8 a.m., McTollbooth, a lane mimicking a McDonald’s Drive-Thru, was opened at the Bocaue Exit at the NLEX and Nichols Plaza at the SLEX.
Motorists who passed by the McTollbooth received free McMuffin sandwiches and did not have to pay any toll fees.
The McTollbooth is part of McDonald’s global initiative imlovinit24, which aims to bring the world together virtually through 24 gifts of joy in 24 hours in 24 different cities, including in the Philippines.
"With McTollbooth, McDonald’s Philippines is once again able to spread happiness in the morning, this time, to motorists on their way to work or school, who experience the rush hour traffic and steep toll fees on a daily basis. We are delighted to be part of the brand’s global initiative of engaging our customers and bringing the world together with 24 random acts of surprise,” said McDonald’s Philippines Senior Vice President for Marketing, Margot Torres.
McDonald’s Philippines President and CEO Kenneth S. Yang gave away the first McMuffin at the NLEX, while endorsers Xian Lim, Enrique Gil and Lovi Poe were also present.
