MANILA - Cebu Pacific said Thursday it received the first of 39 new Airbus A321 jets, the longest and widest single aisle aircraft, to aid its expansion.
The new planes are equipped with USB slots, allowing passengers to charge their mobile devices while flying, the country's largest carrier said in a statement.
"The new aircraft supports Cebu Pacific’s expansion plans across the region, further boosting a network that now spans over 100 routes on 37 domestic and 26 international destinations," the airline said.
The delivery announced Thursday is one of 7 A321 CEOs or current engine option, with the next tranche of deliveries expected "in the coming months," Cebu Pacific said.
The 32 other A321 are of the NEO or new engine option, deliveries of which will start in late 2018 until 2022, the airline said.
