MANILA - Quezon City will extend the deadline for the payment of local taxes due to the COVID-19 quarantine, the city government said Tuesday.

Payments for business taxes, real property and transfer taxes will be accepted until April 30, according to the Quezon City Facebook page.

The renewal of business permits was also extended, according to the post. No date was specified.

No penalties will be imposed on business owners who file their taxes on or before April 30, the post said. Discounts may also be given to those who pay local taxes within this period.

The Bureau of Internal Revenue said it was not planning to extend the April 15 deadline for the filing of income tax returns. The agency instead called on taxpayers to use BIR’s online tax forms and payment facilities.
